When chaos is our comfort zone chaos is more of what we’ll attract. About tough love and ass kicks.

Got my ass kicked by my Life Coach today. It was necessary. I used to be super sensitive when it comes to people giving me tough love. I would always feel so so defensive because it felt like failing to me. It felt as if I didn’t have what it took, I wasn’t capable of knowing better myself or making better choices for myself. Frankly somebody else being harsh with me made me feel less than. Who wants to feel like that? No one. It sucks. Sucks when you can’t admit when you are wrong or take things so personal that you turn someone’s care for you against them. Of course sometimes people mean well but actually you shouldn’t be taking their advice as it is just a reflection of their limiting beliefs, fears, perspectives or what they think life should be like or their perfect vision for you. However, sometimes it is so necessary for someone to grab you by your shoulders, shake you and tell you to get it together.
I am so good at deflecting, at finding excuses, at thinking or talking myself out of being wrong. I think when you are spiritual it is even easier. My favourite go to’s are “can’t do this today because my energy feels off”, “(I’m tired) I should listen to my body” or my number one “it doesn’t feel right”. While all of these seem plausible what I’m learning is that it’s important to know your boundaries, know your limits and know yourself well enough to know when you are just trying to find a way out. Wow, that was a lot of “knows”. Well, yes it’s about knowing yourself. No longer letting yourself be bullshited and manipulated by the version of yourself that wants to keep you stuck in your old ways because that’s what is safe and comfortable.
For me it’s also about showing up for myself instead of falling back into old patterns of pitying myself and finding excuses all over the place. I do know what I want my life to look like and yet my past patterns and limiting beliefs take over again and again. Which means my old programming is still stronger in my system than my reprogramming. Like the update is at 49%. Only 2% to be more update than old program just not quite there yet. It does take time to break down old patterns especially when it comes to subconscious beliefs. Not just time but also patience, grace and self compassion but also not too much as that can turn into self pitying really quickly. Writing this now I realise how much of a thin line it truly is. Walking a tight rope between having compassion for yourself and finding excuses, between following your intuition and not mistaking it for the voices that want you to stay safe and comfortable. Overcoming self sabotage without sabotaging yourself even more in the process. Fact is reprogramming, changing your beliefs, your routines, your habits, turning your life around is a delicate process. One that calls for brutal honesty with oneself and pushing personal limits but then again not too much. By now I believe it is one of the hardest things we as humans can do.
We are habit bound by nature. We love safety and thrive on comfort. Stability is our love language. Don’t be fooled though as it isn’t always what it sounds like. When your life was chaos ridden so far there is a good chance that chaos is actually your comfort zone. You feel safe when things are changing or unsure. You might be starting a million things but never follow through with anything because that would mean the chaos would be gone. That is actually something that clicked for me today. I thought the reason why I can’t commit to anything is because it’s just not in my nature. I’m an Aquarius, we don’t commit (in certain areas) so that must be why. Another good one is I don’t commit because what if that means I’ll be stuck then.
Personally I haven’t committed or fully gone in on anything really, keep switching my products and ideas around, start something and then stop, change my instagram Bio every 4-5 business days (might be exaggerating but you get the point). Not because I am not able to commit but because I am afraid of it. So afraid that I’ll change my mind on what I want to do. So afraid that I am not enough, that I can’t live up to my offers, am not capable of seeing something through. So afraid of letting people down. Afraid of the responsibility. Afraid of commitment. That’s where the self sabotage hits and instead of doing something and at least trying things to see what works for me and what doesn’t, what I like or don’t like I freeze. I procrastinate. I don’t choose the life I so badly want because I am too afraid of discomfort. Afraid my new life won’t be working out as I imagine it to, afraid that I can’t make it happen, that I don’t have it in me. Uff, I think the last one is the very core one. The Lack of self belief.
The worst thing though is when you think you successfully overcame something and then there is a trigger being pulled and you feel like you’re right back at square one. In moments like these we tend to forget the tools that help us, the affirmations, the beliefs, habits and patterns we so carefully and radically changed. Instead we once again buy into our limiting beliefs, once again listen to that voice that tells us we aren’t good enough or that this new life we envision is simply too hard to get to. Still fall for our minds tricks and our bodies cravings. At least that is what has been true for me and I let it go on for too long. But I am over it. I am done. Mark my words. From this day forward I will choose differently and here is how.
One more thing before we get into it. Truth is there will always be triggers it’s not about not being triggered but about learning how to deal with it when we are. No one ever has it all figured out, knows it all or is ever fully healed. That would mean we’d stop growing and that is not what this experience called life is about. I strongly believe we are here to grow and to expand. However, it’s all about catching ourselves. Responding instead of reacting. Knowing what to do when our nervous system reacts, when our mind starts to spiral and we fall back into familiar patterns that do not align with the life we want to live or the people we want to be. To resort to the tools and the ways that are at our hands and actually use them whenever need be. And guess what? There are so many plants that can and gladly will support us through it all as well. Honestly I don’t know how people manage to live without plants. Before I fall into a full homage to plants let’s get into it. 🌸😇
Subconscious Reprogramming Tools & techniques that WORK
When you feel like choosing the new is too hard and just want to run right back to your old ways even though you know they don’t serve you anymore.
Breathe. Breathing is so so underestimated as a conscious tool. Our breath connects us to our body. It is the one thing that can immediately calm us down, help us reconnect, realign and can be done whenever, wherever. So when wanting to resort to old habits, being triggered, your nervous system reacts or you feel like you are about to spiral - breathe. There is so many helpful breathing techniques out there and I guess just like with plants what might help me might not be right for you but here is my current favourite. Breathe in for 4 seconds, hold for 4, breathe out for 6. When breathing in I love to repeat the word align and breathing out repeat the word release. The more disconnected, anxious, stressed, triggered, etc. I am the longer I stretch my breaths meaning adding 2-3 seconds to each step. This is incredibly calming and extremely helpful to remember to come back to the body and even more importantly the present moment. Which brings me to the next point.
Hourly alarms for staying present, aware and aligned. When we are aware of our thoughts, our actions and our reactions we can stay on top of them. Instead of falling victim to them. This helps us when we fall into autopilot, zone out and do things out of habit without even realising it. It helps us become aware of why we do certain things and why we crave certain things. Helps us be the observer which in turn helps us to choose differently. On the other hand whenever something throws us off or catches us off guard but we stay present and aware instead of reacting nothing can really ever get to us. We realise that the situation that just triggered us already is in the past. It has passed. It is done. We are in the present though. Yes, we still might react but instead of spiralling, taking it personal or buying into it more than need be we then accept it for what it is and move on. Let’s talk about acceptance real quick. I once heard an amazing podcast episode on happiness. Just looked it up and found it. Listen in when you can it truly changed my perspective on a lot of things. Here is the link: https://youtube.com/watch?v=csA9YhzYvmk&si=fsU2NCKx5Hfpg41k Mo Gawdat talks about how there is steps to happiness. It is about radically accepting the situation you’re in and then changing it if possible. If not making the most of it. It’s all we really can do. The more we fight, the more we resist and regret the harder we will make it for ourselves and the more miserable we will feel at the end of the day. Accept that the things that happened already happened. The decisions we made are already made. Being mad at ourselves, getting frustrated, blaming ourselves, feeling guilty, ashamed does not change anything on the contrary it only makes it worse. Why? Because instead of moving on we stay in the past and lower our vibration drastically. Acceptance sets us free. It liberates us and helps us move on. But how? The answer is so incredibly simple yet effective. Hourly alarms. Set yourself alarms on your phone for every hour from the moment you wake up until you go to bed. Whenever the alarm goes off take a moment to ask yourself what energy you are currently tuned into, to reflect if what you are doing is in alignment with your vision, to be present in your body for a second. This helps me so so much to be aware as it is only natural to go into autopilot in the day to day. Whenever the alarm goes off I breathe, it’s like my system reboots and gets me back on track which is especially crucial in the beginning of your transformation journey.
Meditation. I used to hate it. For the longest time I thought I can’t meditate, I’m failing at it because my mind is never quiet. It made me feel so bad about myself that I gave up on it for a long time until I understood what it was all about. Meditation isn’t about silencing yourself. It is about reconnecting with your inner self, with source. Grounding yourself. Becoming the observer. About zooming out and seeing the bigger picture. It is about realigning yourself every single day. It’s about finding comfort within. Finding inner peace and inner wholeness. Meditation is the key to a different realm. To tapping into your deepest desires and bringing them to light. Meditation is about tuning out all outer noise and fully submerging into silence, into the void where all creation lies. I meditate every morning for 20 minutes. Some days more, some days less. There is days when I don’t feel like it at all and have to force myself for I know how good it makes me feel after. I never regretted taking the time to meditate as it is always a recalibration with my higher self, my purpose and my vision.
Journaling. Another one I didn’t take seriously in the beginning but now do religiously. Everyday 3 pages. Non negotiable. When I’m on vacation, with friends, etc. I try to at least do 1 1/2 pages. Just writing down what wants to come. No agenda, no specific topics just writing what comes to mind in that very moment. I like doing it after my meditation while I’m still in my own energy meaning before looking at my phone or engaging with others. I have my own journal that is dedicated to this practice. I also love to write down how I felt before meditation, after meditation and then after journaling from 1-10. 1 feeling my lowest, 10 my best. Being so honest with it. Sometimes I feel worse after as it can bring things to light it which is good though in the end.
Committing to one thing that brings you closer to your vision every day. One thing that connects you to your best version. One thing that reminds you of the life you want to make your reality. It’s about stepping into the habits of your highest self, the person you want to be. This can be working out every day, going on a walk every day, eating one healthy meal every day, learning something new in the field you want to get into, something that serves your purpose. For me it is writing. No matter what my day looks like I write every day. Whether that is a blogpost, an Instagram post, or simply a note in my notes app. It truly doesn’t matter but by committing you aren’t just getting closer to where you want to go but you’re also signalling to the universe that you are actually taking it seriously.
Tuning into the right energy. We are always tuned in to energy. Always. Whatever we focus on is the frequency we vibrate on. Consequently whatever energy we are tuned in with is creating our reality, is what we will attract more into our lives. Where awareness and focus go energy flows. If we focus on what doesn’t work out in our lives more energy will flow towards what doesn’t work out. If we focus on lack our energy will flow towards more lack. Our outer reality always reflects our inner reality. It has to. It’s like wanting a new car and all of a sudden seeing that exact car everywhere. Why? Because your focus has shifted, you are actively looking out for that specific car. Your external reality starts reflecting your internal reality. When we really grasp this principle we can manipulate energies. This is where the sentence “delulu is the solulu” comes from. Being delusional is our way out. Being delusional means recalibrating our energy to our dream reality before it is even here. It’s manipulating energy. Reframing from everything happens to me to everything happens for me. Tuning into gratitude, love, joy, excitement, curiosity, abundance, luck. Making it fun. Being playful. Falling in love with life, with the process even when it gets rough. Romanticising the shit out of it. That way we heighten our vibration. Our outer reality eventually has to catch up. It’s literally LAW. The law of attraction & the law of assumption. Assuming what you wish for is already on its way to you and while you are waiting for it to arrive you live your best life and have the most fun. There is a really good guided meditation that I love to do to tune into a higher vibration: https://bit.ly/432ysj0 It’s literally 10 minutes and I do it every morning and throughout the day when I find myself in a past belief spiral or generally a low vibration. You can also find so so many on YouTube.
Grounding. Vital especially for all of us who are a lot in our heads. Grounding is so simple and so incredibly effective. Here is my favourite grounding techniques. Stand up feet a little wider than hip width apart hands down, palms turned forward (like the mountain pose in Yoga). Now visualise golden roots growing out of your feet into the ground. Deep, deep down until you reach the earths core. Now say out loud or just in your mind: I am stable, centred and fully grounded in my power. Repeat as many times as it takes to feel fully connected. Thank the earth for carrying you and holding you. Bonus points for doing this outside. Extra points for being barefoot standing on earth/gras.
Going out into nature. When we consciously go out into nature meaning walking with no distractions and really tuning into the energy of nature around us we can be massively supported. Our system can relax, just by being outside our energy can be recharged but only if we truly connect. Which happens when we look around us, take everything in consciously. The birds chirping, the butterflies crossing our paths, the plants on the corner of the street, the gras or lack thereof depending on the seasons, the trees with their roots being deeply connected to earth, maybe a stream of water and its energy of cleansing. This helps not only to get out of our heads but also tune in to the energy of earth, of creation, of life. On top of that our brains get the fresh air they need to thrive, the sun can charge us up with vital vitamin D, the rain and the wind can cleanse our field, our aura. Nature is like a free human battery charger.
Moving your body. So much of what I have stated already is what every health advisor always suggests for good reason so it shouldn’t come as a surprise that movement is on this list too. Especially as movement truly helps to recalibrate instantly. To be fully transparent I haven’t taken this part really seriously for a long time. Thought it was overrated and just a way for fitness coaches to make money lol. Well, no ok being fully honest those were just my excuses for being lazy. On top of that I have struggled with my physical energy for a long, long time which lead to not being active as it seemed counterintuitive but boy was I wrong. Moving your body and by that I truly mean doing some sort of exercise that gets your heart rate going and challenges you even if its just a little bit not just walking your dog (which also was my excuse like what do you mean I’m not active? I walk my dog twice a day). Why? Stagnant energy leads to more stagnant energy. Exercising isn’t just vital for your physical health as it gets your energy up but also for your mental and emotional health. I’m sure there are countless studies on this and the hormones you release during exercising and all the things. For me it’s showing myself that I can do hard things, it motivates me to take better care of my body in general like eating more healthy, is amazing for my nervous system and the feeling after is the best part. Feeling proud, feeling accomplished, feeling good in your own skin. What is so important here is to find something you actually enjoy. For me I need alteration. Going for a run, pilates at home (love Move with Nicole on YouTube), yoga at home (love Yoga with Adriene on YouTube), going to the gym every once in a while, dance classes, simply stretching on days I don’t feel fit,… There is so many options and it made such a change in my life. But I’m not just talking about regular movement but also in the moment movement meaning when you feel like it’s about to go south, beliefs come creeping in move. Do jumping jacks, push ups, pull ups, squats, etc. etc. or my personal favourite is doing little dance breaks. I love to resort to that when I can feel my energy tanking or resorting to autopilot habits (during working or in general) like scrolling social media. When that happens I know I’ve been sitting for too long or simply need a break. Whether that’s a dance break or a general break.
Music. Such a great tool to get into a specific energy. With that being said all music we listen to we pick up energetically. It’s no coincidence that listening to happy, upbeat music gets our energy up while listening to sad songs can be a vibe but also can lower our energy. I’m not just talking about listening to one song but one after the other. It can help manipulate our energy so drastically. I have a playlist that I listen to in the morning, throughout the day, whenever I need/want to raise my energy that contains all of my favourite power songs. Songs that make me feel confident, happy, joyful, strong, all the good stuff. One of my absolute favourites and go-tos is “No bad Days” by Macklemore another one is “Good as hell” by Lizzo and Ariana Grande. For you this could be totally different songs. If you want my playlist link let me know in the comments here or shoot me an Instagram DM. Fact is music can change our mood and get us out of a funk or stir us into one. So again awareness is important.
And that concludes the Tools and Techniques part of this post which honestly turned out so much bigger than I intended it to be. Therefore I decided to split it up and do the plants in an extra blog post. Stay tuned for that. 🌿🤗
Now on to some really really important last words. There will be challenges, hurdles, obstacles and setbacks. It’s crucial that we don’t stop when it gets hard, don’t change lanes when it gets boring, don’t give up when it seems like there is no progress, don’t identify with our past beliefs any longer. That’s what this post is all about, what these tools and plants are all about to help us keep going even on the days we want to throw the towel. It’s about actively choosing your dream reality, your higher self, your dreams and goals over and over and over again. Despite headwind. Despite pushback. Despite inner demons and outer noise. It’s about believing so much in yourself, being so in love with your dream reality that no matter how strong the tides are you continue to swim and don’t stop until getting to the opposite shore. It’s not just about how badly we want it but about what we are willing to overcome to get it. About overcoming the hardest thing we will ever be faced with: Ourselves. 🐦🔥
